The Talon Mk2 bears it's name from the Vulture's incredibly sharp claws. Designed around the U.S. Army BMF protocol "Basic Military Function" it has been a favorite profile of elite units for decades.  The blade is 4.25" long and has an overall length of just over 10".  It also features a deep bevel and a new swedge tip facilitating greater overall tip strength.

Part of the Mk2 program is a move into an American made Aviation Grade 154CM Stainless direct from Crucible for an overall increase in oxidation resistance, toughness and hardness.  While a stainless steel, 154CM still has a significant amount of carbon so it takes a razor edge!  The steel is also heat treated now in a controlled environment by a major contractor who tests and certifies each batch as to hardness and conformity to the steel manufacturers specifications.  The blades also go through cryo tempering (specified by the steel manufacturer's engineers) and executed in the same ISO 9002 facility for repeatability throughout.

The grip design is unique to only the Talon and optimized for solid finger/grip isolation for both bare and gloved hands.  Still featuring a tapered handle profile allowing a greater transfer of force to blade which results in more control.  The butt section has 2 sided hidden jimping and a tapered profile allowing striking and a perfect platform for pressure point control while maintaining a safety factor for the user.  The Talon Mk2 handle radius is now a chamfered edge making for a more tactical and modern refinement.

This blade profile is also extremely well suited for bushcraft and survival tasks. Each finger recess is an ellipse to facilitate greater traction while thrusting in extreme situations.  With the addition of a swedge (brought to 90% of an edge) the tip boasts a 4 sided trocar tip allowing it to pierce cleanly and effectively.  Final edge on this design is a true "modified scandi" grind which features flat main bevels and a secondary 22 degree edge for greater strength and edge retention.

End finishes on this model are offered in natural or black stonewash with a crisp laser engraved logo along with model designation, Will's name, steel type and USA marking.  Our new Mk2 knives all feature a riveted ambidextrous kydex sheath with standard bolt patterns and MOLLE / PALS compatible clip.
